CONFERENCE INFORMATION

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to Tencon'05, to be held in Melbourne, Australia in November 2005.

Tencon - the annual technical conference of IEEE Region 10 - is now a prestigious annual event attended by researchers, academics and practising professionals from all parts of the Asia Pacific region and beyond.

Tencon'05 will explore and develop a range of themes relevant to the needs and challenges of our times. Our primary focus will be on the applications of new and emerging electro-technologies.

This will not be to the exclusion of research papers at all levels of abstraction, but with the ultimate benefits to our fellow citizens (and the world at large) very much in mind. We feel that such an orientation is consistent both with the tradition of past Tencon's and the basic Mission Statement of the IEEE.

Tencon'05 will be hosted by IEEE Victorian Section, with the co-sponsorship and support of several other professional bodies in Australia. Keynote addresses and invited papers will be presented by some eminent professionals who are leading authorities in their respective fields.

Apart from the technical sessions and the associated workshops and tutorials, there will technical visits to universities and research laboratories where leading-edge research and development work is being undertaken. There also will be special activities (and prizes) for students and recent graduates.

For partners of delegates, there will be a wide range of tours and other activities available. The proximity of the conference location to the main business and shopping areas of Melbourne, and also to our many parks and gardens, means that Accompanying Persons will have no shortage of options - whether for sightseeing, dining, shopping or entertainment, or just relaxation!

By attending and participating in Tencon'05, you can help us to achieve our objectives: to make this a conference of the highest international standard; and (even more importantly) to make it a memorable and rewarding event for all delegates.
